Job Description

HW3 is partnering with a global financial institution to hire a senior credit-risk professional within its New York team.

 

This position will provide independent credit oversight across a portfolio of complex US commercial real estate transactions. The successful candidate will assess new opportunities, make or recommend credit decisions and monitor existing exposures throughout their lifecycle.

The role offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence portfolio strategy, credit standards and risk-management practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess complex commercial real estate transactions and counterparties.
  • Review transaction structures, financial performance, collateral and key risk considerations.
  • Provide credit approvals or present recommendations through the appropriate approval process.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging or deteriorating risks.
  • Participate in portfolio reviews and discussions concerning higher-risk exposures.
  • Review internal credit ratings and supporting risk metrics.
  • Evaluate the impact of market and economic developments on individual transactions and the wider portfolio.
  • Contribute to credit standards, portfolio strategy and risk-management frameworks.
  • Provide credit-risk input on new financing structures and business initiatives.
  • Work closely with business, legal, compliance and other risk stakeholders.

 

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience within commercial real estate credit, underwriting or risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of the US commercial real estate market.
  • Experience assessing large or complex lending transactions.
  • Previous credit approval authority or meaningful responsibility for presenting recommendations to senior credit committees.
  • Strong understanding of transaction structures, collateral analysis and portfolio monitoring.
  • Sound independent judgment and the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and portfolio matters simultaneously.
